You know you're a Muggle if...

you turn 11 and no owls show up with a letter of acceptance to Hogwarts.  Darn it!  That confirms it that Irelynd is an ordinary Muggle.
We told all the kids that their birthday gift this year was Disneyland, but we couldn't let them not have something to open, so we bought a small gift for everyone to bonk them with.  We started with Boston.  He didn't get the bonking thing yet.  No matter, we will train him correctly by Irelynd's next birthday.
Brighton, on the other hand, could hardly wait for his turn.  He's learned well.  We're so proud of him.  Irelynd has had experience with Brighton's "bonking", can you tell?
My turn.  I went easy on her.
With no cracks on her skull, Irelynd blows out her candles.  I'll bet she wished for a helmet next year, and no heavy presents.
Happy birthday Irelynd!  We love you!
The kids weren't supposed to have parties this year, either, but I'm a sucker for birthday parties, and caved.  Though the girls' parties were so low key; I only made a few treats, and they entertained themselves with games, movies, and nail painting.  This is Irelynd's group of friends from school plus cousins.  What's funny is that Irelynd is the odd one out because she hangs out with 2 sets of twins.  They had a good time playing the Skittles game, Curses, and Apples to Apples.

You'll have to tell me more about the present bonk thing. Sounds interesting, possibly traumatic. Some of my kids have expressed disappointment at turning 11 and not receiving a letter either. Ha, ha!
