4 months old

 Look at those cheeks!

The Little Mermaid

Savannah was in The Little Mermaid at her school this year.  She was in the ensemble, and a jellyfish.  We made her hat from a sombrero, sparkly material, and yards and yards of ribbon.
The kids all liked the show, and after Waverly demanded photos with all the major characters.  Here she is with Flounder,
 King Triton,
 Ariel,
 our favorite jellyfish,
 Prince Eric,
 (we really loved Prince Eric),
 Chloe, one of the sisters,
 Sebastian,
 Ursula,
(Savannah had to have one too since this friend moved away after this school year)
and another of Ariel's sisters.  Savannah did a great job and we are so proud of her for following her passions and dreams!

Cake pops

My brother and SIL gave me a cake pop mold for my birthday this year.  After months of begging, we finally got around to trying it one day in March.  The kids loved decorating them and later, eating them.  Not sure it will be a regular activity, due to the labor time, but we enjoyed them!

Boston is wishing he had teeth already!

Bear essentials

I love love love Boston right after a bath when he is in his bear towel and down to a diaper and smells like a baby!  I have to pick him up and cuddle his chubby baby softness close and kiss him all over.  I like to breathe in the baby scent of him and wish I could bottle this memory forever.  Is there anything more sweet than that?  Bathtime was always a fun time to play with my babies.  Boston isn't fond of being dressed after his bath, but he loves bathtime.  The water used to freak him out a bit at first, but now he happily splashes and squeals while in the tub.  I am going to miss these moments most when this little boy is no longer little.
His chubby cheeks and big blue eyes all wrapped up in a soft fuzzy bear towell just melt my heart.
Baby feet are some of my favorite things on this planet.
Boston, your mommy adores you!

I do not like them Sam I am

To celebrate Dr Seuss's birthday, we had green eggs and ham again.  The green eggs always throws the kids off a bit, but they loved the green ham.

Kiss you all over

Is it obvious that we just adore this little guy?

Lesson #438: Fingernail polish is for nails only

Waverly was sporting rosy cheeks for awhile in February.  One Sunday Savannah decided to paint her face with fingernail polish.  Since we didn't have any remover, and I insisted she remove it, she put a little too much elbow grease behind it, and scrubbed her raw.  Poor thing looked like she had been burned for a few days.  Savannah felt really bad about it, and I think she learned her lesson.

Big 4-oh

Scott turned the Big 4-0 this year.  I was going to throw him a big party, but instead, I put aside my natural tendencies and planned a weekend trip to St George instead, which is what I knew he'd like better.  My mom took the kids Friday and Saturday, and the two of us (plus Boston, who was still breast-feeding), ran away for 2 days.  I didn't take any pictures, much to my shame, but we started his big day out with breakfast at Kneader's.  I kept the kids out of school for it, plus his parents met us down there.  They have a cinnamon bread French toast that is to die for.  Next, I dropped him off for a Chiropractic adjustment and massage while I took the kids to school and packed for our trip.  I gave him a gift every hour on the 15, since he was born on the :15.  They included some of his favorite things, plus gift cards to Applebees and Chilis in preparation for our trip.  All of this was a surprise to him, which was hard to keep, with 5 little reporters in the house.
After his massage, we drove to Cedar City.  St George was crazy busy that weekend with soccer tournaments, gymanstics meets, President's Day weekend, and the St George Parade of Homes, which was the catalyst for our trip there.  We spent all day Saturday at the Parade, and came home Sunday afternoon.  Boston was so good the entire trip, sleeping perfectly at night, and napping on my chest in his baby carrier during the day.  It was a fun weekend, and hopefully one he'll remember.
These two photos are the only ones I took of Scott's birthday.  The kids were really mad that I took their dad away on his birthday, so we celebrated with a quick trifle cake when we got home, so they could sing to him and watch him blow out his candles.  We love you Daddy!

Love Day 2013

This was our Love Day feast this year.  With a new baby, several of our yearly holiday traditions have gone a little askew, but we still tried to do them, even as a simplified version.  This year we had salad, Costco cheese ravioli in a pink alfredo sauce, and French bread.  We made these yummy chocolate dipped strawberries as plate favors.

Boston's wide-eyed expression had us all laughing.  I think the flames from the candles had him mesmerized.

Scott brought me home these gorgeous fire-and-ice roses.  Early in our marriage I told him I hated red roses; I think they are too cliche, and he's never forgotten it.  My favorite are these kind and pink ones.
Plus he brought home bouquets for each of the girls, and big M&M's for both boys.  So thoughtful!:)
Our mailboxes got broken last year, so we made our own using the Costco milk boxes.  Not as cute, but we get extra credit for being green this year!  Brighton was infatuated with Cupid this year.  He wanted to know all about him; where he lived, what he looked like, if he really wears a diaper (just kidding, I just made that one up.)  He wrote a note to him asking if he was real, and where he gets all his Valentine's treats that he brings.  Unfortunately I forgot to mail it to Loveland, which is where Cupid lives.  He brought some yummy candies and some necklaces for the girls this year.

Betwixt you and I...please be my Valentine

This was Brighton's class Valentine this year.  I tried to just get him to attach the Twix to a pre-printed card and be done with it, but he insisted  on hand-writing all 19 of them.  It took him awhile, and I think he regretted his decision halfway through, but he did it!

3 Months old

Our little man is growing up so quickly!  And getting so chubby!  I enjoy this baby more than I thought I would and can not imagine our life without him.  He is truly an unexpected blessing.
He is such an easy-going baby and only cries when he is tired or hungry.  He puts up with his siblings loving on him and mauling him.  He loves to be cuddled and held, and smiles easily, but we have to really earn his laughter.  He sleeps through the night, loves his binky, and is a mommy's boy, which I love.
We love you Boston!

Shhhh!

I had to snap a picture of my two best men asleep together at the end of the night.
And of course, my favorite twinners.

5th Grade Science Fair project

This was Irelynd's science fair project this year.  She tested the effect of friction using a marble run and different surfaces.
