These are some of the things we've heard from the kids recently:
While at Liberty Park in Salt Lake, the twins and I were sitting on the edge of the pond waiting for the older 3 to finish their ride in the paddle boats. Keaton tooted, and Waverly stand up, and says in her loudest announcer voice, "Attention duckies! My brother just farted!"
Brighton exercised for a short time with me one morning. When he stopped he says, "Whew! I'm sweatier than a hotdog in the bathtub!" Cuz we bathe our hotdogs, Brighton?
We hiked to the Grotto in Payson one Saturday evening, and on the way back down to the car Brighton says, "This was funner than giving a pig a bath!"

8 months
Boston is still such a happy, good-natured baby. I am loving every minute with this last little baby, and wishing the time didn't go by so quickly. I just want to hold on to each moment and stage of his. I don't remember Savannah growing up this fast. Funny how your first child seems to be a baby forever, but your last grows up while you blink.
Everyone had to have their own picture with Boston. Funny side note about Keaton's eye. One Sunday he watched Savannah ride her bike, sans hands, and tried it himself. I was in the garage and heard the commotion of everyone yelling, and Savannah says, "quick, take him to Mom". Not something you want to hear, and I was bracing for lots of blood, or a crooked arm. I didn't expect to see the Epcot ball-sized lump on the side of his head. I didn't know bumps could grow that big. Luckily, the swelling went down, and just resulted in a nice shiner for a week. This kid sure can take a beating!
Building with Dad
When we moved out of our house we sold our big outside table. I am a big fan of eating outside (less mess to clean up!), but we haven't had an outdoor table since. I found a pattern on Pinterest that looked simple enough, and, between Brighton and I, we convinced Scott to make it. I also kept hinting about a teeter-totter pattern I found, which he threw together too. The boys LOVE building things with their dad, and were glued to his side all morning while he built these. I love seeing how they are learning practical skills while spending time with their dad. I hope they have good memories of building with him.
Everyone got a turn with the new sander on the table.
Here's the unfinished teeter totter. I'll post the finished product later, as well as the table, when it gets finished. It's going to look great!
Knights and princesses
When left by themselves, these two play really well together. Keaton is going to be the best husband and dad ever! He knows what a girl wants. For now, with Waverly, it's playing dress ups and Barbies. He is usually good to go along with her story lines, but there comes a point when she pushes him too hard and he rebuffs her. I've caught her following him up the stairs shouting, "fine! You can be the prettiest princess in the world!" Hm, I don't think that's why he quit, darlin. On this day, these two played Princess and Knight, and insisted I take their picture.
An attempt at a dip...
goes awry. Luckily we had no tears.
A side note: see Keaton's hair? Yeah, he styles it himself these days. Lookin spiffy, Keaton!
Balloons and Breakfast
The Hot Air balloon festival was smaller than normal this year. We went on the 5th, so maybe that's why. The kids loved watching the huge balloons inflate and take off. This is our 5th year going, and they don't get tired of seeing it. Afterwards, we ate breakfast with Grandma under the trees.
Happy birthday America!
We had our annual Henry Family Breakfast in the canyon again this year. We were lucky and had Spencer and Alyson and Grace with us this year. We get to have them for a year of holidays before they move again out of state. Savannah and Chloe are the best of friends. They are so lucky to have each other! I hope they remain close throughout their lives. Love Baker's expression in the background.
Brothers and friends
Waverly and Piper look more like sisters than cousins. They both came out looking different, but like each other. Must be Henry genes somewhere!
What's breakfast without giant bubbles? We haven't used them in a year, but they still worked great.
Maybe even better than last year. Several kids were able to get a giant bubble out of them.
We didn't intend on matching everyone this year, but as it turned out, everyone had an outfit except for Brighton and Savannah. 4 hours of shopping later, we grabbed the only red and white shirt Kmart had to offer that Savannah didn't poopoo.
Boston was enthralled with Maggie the dog. He kept trying to suck on her tags. She is such a patient, kind dog. She just put up with it and he eventually got it.
Can you tell which of my children is not liking me at this moment? Said child was shot down for a playdate with a cousin that afternoon. Aren't they all so cute?
America's Sweetheart. Isn't she cute?
These 2 are deceptively cute!
The rest of the day we spent at home. That night we went to a neighborhood fireworks display where Boston saw his first fireworks up close. I forgot the camera and didn't get any pictures of him, dang it!
Take a trip Tuesday: Mrs. Cavanaugh's
We drove to North Salt Lake to Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolate Factory to watch how chocolate is produced. Well, that's what we thought we were going to see. What we actually saw is a video about the history of the company and the origin of chocolate. Then a quick glimpse inside the factory, and ended in the train room and factory store. Not as entertaining as the Sweet's factory tour a few years ago, but we ended with some yummy ice cream cones and a chocolate sample. Plus we had cousins along with us, so anything is fun in that case!
Happy 5th birthday, Keaton and Waverly!
The twins are 5!!! We celebrated with a party at Grandma LeBaron's house. She had princess plates for the girls, and car plates for the boys. The twins opted for Hawaiian haystacks and rolls for dinner. Keaton LOVES rice!
Finally, after a L O N G wait, it was time to open presents from Grandma!
One's own cereal is a hot commodity in our house.
A new pink, frilly Hello Kitty outfit is every girls' dream.
Well, if Waverly is going to go bananas over her new outfit, I guess I need to do the same...
Cake time! Both twin wanted a different cake, so we just went for yummy instead of beautiful or creative. This is a chocolate raspberry bundt cake with Chocolate ganache whipped frosting. It was so delish!
On the twins' actual birthday, they got their presents from Mom and Dad and Irelynd. Irelynd bought them both presents at her 5th Grade Class Auction a month earlier. She is so sweet to think of others, and was excited to give the twins their gifts. She put a lot of thought about where to hide them.
Keaton got a Batman figure and car.
Waverly got this Princess crown.
Keaton got a bag of Doritos from us. This kid LOVES chips of any kind. He'll pile his plate full of them and leave the rest of his food alone, if he has his way. When we go to Costco, I have to brace myself for the chip aisle, where he'll ask in his little boy voice, "can we buy chips, pweeeeeze?" It's so hard to say no!
Waverly got a new swimsuit
and a new Minnie Mouse shirt, plus other clothes.
Keaton got this shirt and other clothes too.
We love you twins!
