This is what we gave the teachers this year. I was happy with how they turned out. I had intended on sewing these cupcake potholders 2 Christmases ago for our bookclub party, but we moved, and then I had a baby last year, and I didn't host it this year. So I sewed up a few and gave them out to the kids' teachers along with a box of muffins.

Randomness
Savannah made this posterboard Leaning Tower of Pisa for a homework assignment in Social Studies. She put so much work into it that we had to take a picture before it got thrown away. She even added the flag on the top!
The twins' class celebrated 50's day at school by dressing up in 50's style, playing games and eating food popular in that time period. They came home singing "do the mashed potato".
I made these bibs and ribbon lion toys for my friends in book club when we had a shower. I want to remember them for future shower gifts so I'm including them here, where I know I will come looking in the future:)

Troll Eyes gift
My mom found these chocolate peanut butter truffles at Kara's Chocolates for $1 a bag. I used 2 of them and made them into a simple apothecary jar for the ladies I visit teach. I bought pickle jars at Dollar Tree, choosing ones with black lids, emptied them out, washed the jar and peeled the label off. I found this jar label online and Mod Podged it on to the jar. Add the eyeballs and some ribbon, and voila! Easy and unique gift!

Teacher's Valentine's gift
This is rather late, but I found this photo on Scott's camera recently. I saw these on someone's blog back in February, and decided to try it for a teacher gift this year. They were so easy! It's hand sanitizer that we bought at the dollar store; I soaked them in water to remove the labels. What didn't come off with water I scrubbed off with an adhesive remover, like Thoro. Then I just cut some scrapbook paper to fit, glued it on with glue dots on the back side, and used rub-ons for the front. Then added some ribbon around the neck. And, voila!
