But it ain't gonna be today. This is how we spent our Sunday evening. Come on a tour with me and see what met my eyes as I decended after a paint-covered little girl.
That's our cooler and the back of a light fixture we were saving for the basement when we add the bathroom. Not no more!
That is my good folding chair. Yeah, I'm mad about that one. And the time out chair. That seems fitting to have them sit on the chair they defiled.
Like the 3 little handprints on the wall? Maybe their calling card?
My storage room got it, but hopefully nothing inside it did.
That's the brand new Spiderman back pack Brighton got for his birthday from Aunt Patti.
These are the master painters. Oh, they had great fun slipping and sliding in the 4 cans of paint and primer they opened.
I don't know why Waverly has it on her mouth.
And this is the mastermind/instigator/can opener. Look at that expression; he knows he's in deep. Those are a new set of pants. Oh yeah.
Our solution to the whole mess was to strip the 3 monsters, and shut the basement for 3 days while the paint dries. Then we'll tackle the mess and evaluate the damage. To be positive, at least it wasn't finished space. And paint comes off skin really easily in hot water. Not so much the hair; poor Waverly is pink and gray for a few days. I hope Brighton gets a child just like him one day. And that we live a thousand miles away.

Okay, this has to be the worst kid mess ever! What has kept you from selling them all off? I think that's probably what I would have done. Maybe it's because they're so darn cute with their great big grins. Good luck cleaning it all up. You'll have to update us as the process continues.
This made me laugh til I cried. I can't believe you're so good natured about it....This reminds me of the day we had friends over and our kids (and theirs) got into my wheat storage. They opened all the little DO NOT EAT silicon packets, dumped them into the wheat and stirred it around good. There was wheat everywhere. Like an open ivitation to all neighborhood mice. My friend was mortified that her kids participated in the wreckage. We also laughed until we cried and sent them all outside while we called poison control to see if the silicon would kill us all. It turns out it won't really hurt you that much, unless you eat a WHOLE lot. They even said not to throw away the wheat and to just grind it like normal and still use it. Now any time we see those packets in anything we crack up. I gotta hand it to you, this (paint) is way messier to clean up. GO JILL!
And when you do move a 1000 miles away, don't leave a forwarding address, and it is not that difficult to change your names, too.
Take it back! Take it back! Don't wish that on your daughter-in-law! JoAnne wished that on Stuart and look at me!
By the way... I think this one takes the cake. I pass the crown to you.
Reading your blog is both funny and painful.
Oh Jill. When pictures of the twins appeared and Brighton wasn't in them I wondered if maybe he didn't make it through this one(:
My condolences!
